In Summer 2023, As an intern in UX design, I worked collaboratively within a cross-functional team to conceptualize and design the web-based back-end system for one of the largest national air cargo companies. My internship project was centered on redesigning the quoting process strategy, with a primary goal of delivering a more user-friendly experience for employees.

I provided updates on my team's progress during daily standup meetings, gaining insights into cross-functional collaboration. Sharing ideas and seeking feedback enabled me to understand diverse perspectives and pain points.
During 1:1 coffee chats with other experienced designers, I was able to express my concerns about how to become a good UX designer. I received a lot of advice and encouragement, which truly shaped the way I think about my future career path.
I applied the storytelling skills I learned in school to my final presentation, guiding them through a narrative about a customer named Nick who is seeking a quote for his flight parcel. My design lead and product manager were impressed by this, reaffirming the importance of storytelling to me once again.
During this internship at a consulting firm, I learned about the complexity of the back-end system of an air cargo company and what constitutes user-friendly design for employees. I realized a UX designer should never stop learning, as everyone can potentially be a user in different industries.
